a newsprint dog says, “Happy Bandcamp Friday!!!!!” Text reads, “shout out to some favorite hidden gems:”

It’s Bandcamp Friday, which means today Bandcamp is waiving their 15% portion of sales, and 100% of purchases go to the artists! Love that!

On the Pet Door Show (Thursdays 2–4pm Pacific / 5–7pm Eastern / 10pm-12am GMT on Shady Pines Radio), I love to share what I consider to be the world’s best new independent and underplayed music, all by artists from around the world with fewer than 5,000 instagram followers. You’re guaranteed to hear a bunch of new music every week.

A lot of the music that I play on the Pet Door Show is stuff I’ve found on Bandcamp, often by independent and self-publishing artists. Below I am sharing a list (arranged alphabetically by artist’s full name) of some of the most underplayed releases available on Bandcamp that I’ve played on the Pet Door Show so far this year, all by artists with fewer than 2,000 instagram followers. These are the hidden gems that I believe deserve a brighter spotlight.

Enjoy!
